Purpose:
To guide users on how to avoid logging time against outdated project assignments in OnePlan timesheets and maintain accurate time reporting.
Issue Overview
Some resource managers have reported timesheet data inconsistencies due to users logging hours on projects they are no longer assigned to. This occurs because OnePlan timesheets auto-carry over the previous week’s entries by default.
Impact
Inaccurate project time tracking
Misleading resource utilization reports
Increased administrative burden on managers
Recommended Solution
To prevent logging time on outdated assignments and ensure timesheet accuracy:
✅ Users should select “Import from Resource Plan” each week when starting their timesheet.
This action ensures that only the current and active assignments from the Resource Plan are pulled into the timesheet, avoiding carry-over from previous weeks.
How to Use "Import from Resource Plan":
Open your timesheet for the current week.
Click the “Copy” button.
Select “Import from Resource Plan”.
Review and confirm the populated projects.
Begin logging your hours.
Additional Tips
Avoid relying solely on the auto-carryover of last week's entries.
If a project does not appear after importing, confirm with your manager that you are currently assigned.
Timesheet managers can use reports to validate time entries against current resource plans.
